Very alarmist indeed. I understand that people are worried about the
current global political climate, but this article's really riddled
with false arguments.

The Militaty falls under the Executive Branch. The president is the
Commander in Chief of the miitary. This is a constitutional thing,
and that fact isn't anything new or alarming.

The president has not only the power, but the responsibility to
appoint judges during term in office. Republicans and Democrats each
appoint judges they like. This is a constitutional responsibility.
Nothing new or alarming here.

The elected party is trying to influence the nation in a direction
they think is right and that everyone knew they would when they got
elected. Yes, the nation elected these guys.

I really do understand that alot of people in this country (and the
world) are worried about what's going on globally. However, arguments
like this are the ones I hear when I listen to ranting "crazy lady"
Randy Rhoades on Air America on the way home. They are simply not
valid arguments, but they are definitely what certain people want to
hear while they vigorously nod their heads in agreement.

It's funny to see people going "Oh no! The president is using the
powers we gave him by electing him!" (wiretaps aside). The specific
military, court and religious argument here in this posting is just
plain bad critical thinking.
