Because Catholics are an easy target. Because it is easier to villify
than to attempt to understand.

And yes, Catholics _are_ less likely to be fundies. But since they
bear the _historical_ burden for the Crusades and the Inquisition,
they are _still_ branded as fundamentally flawed and to a certain
extent evil.
