Some folks, on the other hand, went into hysterics about the idea of
postponing the election, as though anyone in any position of authority would
take such a suggestion seriously.

As for Bush being or not being a conservative, who cares? Congress is
spending like a bunch of drunken sailors, that's where change needs to
happen. All I know is that I would rather have Bush for his many faults than
that pedantic, pompous ass Al Gore or that clueless elitist snob John Kerry.
What a couple of fucknuts the Democrats nominated. Better to have made Joe
Lieberman the nominee in 2000, but of course, he can't even get the
nomination for his own Senate seat anymore, so unhinged has the Democratic
base become.

I thought we were arguing about politics, but if you want to talk economics,
ok. Chavez has eroded private property rights, investment capital is fleeing
Venezuela in droves, the state-owned oil conglomerate is ruining the
country's primary source of external trade income, and the country is
experiencing a massive brain drain as educated, successful people flee for
more hospitable locales. In short, the economic picture in Venezuela sucks,
and it is all Chavez' fault.
