The point is that it was a work of fiction, billed to the participants and audience, as fact - that makes it fraud. To avoid legal ramifications they put in the disclaimers at the last minute. Further, the last thing this country needs right now is a politically motivated fraud regarding 9/11, one of the most heinous acts on American soil since Pearl Harbor. On the one hand, as someone who's claimed to be so close to 9/11, I'm surprised you're not outraged.
