I'm not pussyfooting around anything nor am I suggesting she was trying to appeal to any anti-semitism against him. I found the question to be rather bizarre, especially for a political debate. If it was a question to just about any other religion or ethnicity I truly think that there would be more of an 'issue' with it. Can you imagine the calls to arms if the question was if the person was of muslim background and when they felt they were no longer a muslim? Or black? Or female?
