Oh, so it "implies" a lie now. Calling Iraq "central to the war on terror" implies only that in order to win the war on terror, you must win the war in Iraq. Any other implications that you try to draw from that are subject to your own bias. Saying we are WINNING the war in Iraq would imply that our troops in Iraq are helping to abate terrorism. In that instance, you'd have an argument. So, what you've got is administration that in morning is reading how > having troops in Iraq is increasing the terror threat, but in the > afternoon is telling Americans that it's abating the threat. Maybe. I mean, when Bush says our efforts in Iraq are central to the war on terror, then he says that we are making progress in that effort....ok, when you combine those claims with the intelligence report that says terrorism is rising....maybe you've got a contradiction there.
