Quoting the Skorp -
> So, Hatton, are you then for ...

Eh? How does my attempt to get you to look at an issue as something
other than being incited by religious reasons an indicator that I'm
supporting some kind of religious nuttary? You're trying to bring up
my religious stance to defend your own logically false statements from
the past.

> I totally agree that a parent needs to make these individual decisions for
> their children.

You and I are in complete agreement there; the parents signed the
permission slips and should have been aware to at least some degree of
what they were permitting.

> But do you think a teacher should be fired for this?

No, I do *not* think that the teacher should have been fired for this.
That has *never* been my argument. I think the teacher did a
wonderful thing by trying to use outside resources to help her
students learn.

> See, firing an art teacher for taking 10-year-olds to a museum DOES seem
> extremely
> nutty to me.

I also agree that it's a nutty concept but I disagree that it's based
on a religious precept. As I have said before, there is more to this
story than is being reported. It could be the fact that she's been
teaching for 27 years and they were trying to get rid of her for any
number of reasons, money is my first thought. It could be any number
of other reasons.

The truth of the matter is the fact that WE DO NOT KNOW THE WHOLE
STORY. You cannot base any claim of religious tie between the firing
of this teacher and the Army of Jesus. For the life of me I still do
not understand where you are making this tie.

- Does the teacher belong to the Army of Jesus?
- Do the members of the School Board?
- Is there even a branch in Frisco, Tx?
- Did the principal let it slip to some unpublished source that the
parents complaining were members?

You've based your entire argument on a complete non-sequitur. Yes,
the teacher was fired and that's nutty. Yes, there are Christians
that are nutty. But the two are not in any way shape or form related.

> Why, then, do you think the teacher was fired? Do you have ANY other
> possibility? I'd
> love to hear one that has any shred of information behind it.

I'd love to hear the reasoning as well.

> Do you truly think that the firing was for another reason, or are you just
> claiming "You
> don't have enough facts to make this call?" to stall and obfuscate the issue?
>
> I certainly have enough facts to make this call.

You have facts for this issue? Proof positive that this is based on a
religious precept? Where are they, written and published? Can you
cite for me ONE SINGLE SOURCE that unequivocally states that the
actions of the Frisco ISD School Board were made with religious
intentions.

Again, because I do not have evidence proving it, I cannot say beyond
the shadow of a doubt that the firing decision was not made on a
religious basis. Unless you have proof you cannot say that it was.
