On the other hand. my parents have Allstate for home and car. (and home and car and trailer and other car and motorcycle and motorcycle trailer and boat and boat trailer and flood insurance and hurricane insurance)
They file a claim every time they need to, their rates go down each year. They even filed a claim for a pen that exploded in our kitchen, and got new floor, rugs, cabinet surfacing, bathroom door, kitchen table and chairs and wallpaper. And my dad's bass boat sunk 4 times in 5 years, and they paid to get it fixed each time. My mom had a load of cow manure dump in front of her, and mostly filled her convertable, and it was totalled (car was fine, but OH the smell.) I, on the other hand, can't convince my insurance that someone breaking my car window to steal stuff should be covered under my glass policy.
