Absolutely wrong.
Cardio only depletes muscle when you diet and weight training are not tuned.
Cardio is absolutely essential for FAT loss.

That sounds just like the meat heads at my gym and is totally bogus.
You need a well balanced, full body workout with plenty of rest. Rest is 
more important than lifting, always.
Your muscles grow as they heal.

One thing I will mention is the importance of water. You wanna see fat loss, 
make sure you keep hydrated. Drink a gallon a day... sounds like a lot, but 
it isn't... especially when you compare it to the other beverages you might 
be drinking.
