Yer gonna get a ton of input on this that runs the gamut....but that won't
stop me from offering my 2 cents :)

For food, just pick any mid to upper quality brand that has a meat product
as the primary ingredient. We chose Iams from the beginning, and she's been
healthy as can be. But any comparable food will do. Just make sure you don't
go cheap on this area...it makes a huge difference.

I went hard food because it's just easier, but i don't think it really
matters.

I personally think brushing a dogs teeth is a pointless waste of time and
money, but a lot of my friends do it. I think it's just a personal
preference. My dog's 4, she's never had her teeth brushed, they are in
perfect working order.

Congratulations on getting the new dog! You'll treasure her and wonder why
you waited so long.
