Nope, not even the UN called it self defense. We were there to keep Hussein from launching more agressive attacks against his citizens, as he had done the last time they tried to rebel against him. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iraqi_no-fly_zones I participated in the enforcement of the zones.
