The bigest problem with flash is its 30000 write cycle limit, this is quite a lot for a data storage drive where new files get written a few times a day but for a system partition where log files, page files etc... Get written to many times a second they burn out fast.
I am looking at using a flash device for my system drive in my car PC for power consumption and boot time reasons but "windows xp embedded" (http://msdn.microsoft.com/embedded/windowsxpembedded/default.aspx) looks like a pig to set up so I haven't got round to it yet. Now if someone could come up with a way to boot XP (and Vista) from ROM (remember the Amiga....) ;-) -- James Smith - IT Director uWish Ltd - http://www.uWish.co.uk ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Create robust enterprise, web RIAs.
