But by the same token do you think that Hillary or Obama has a chance with America? I'm not so sure. It seems to me that the republicans are doing a fine job of laying low, as a party, right now. Bush and certain parts of the administration is getting heat, yes, but the party doesn't seem to be hefting much of it. I fear that the democrats are laboring under the delusion that any warm body could win in the current climate. I keep hearing that "this is the time" and so forth... but I don't know that it is. I think that the same people that came out to vote against the "gay threat" may very well warm tremendously to a middle-of-the-road republican who promises (oh so sincerely) to fix the mistakes of the past. In short I'm not so sure that the republicans will actually lose many votes this time around. Unfortunately I think that the dems should play it straight and safe this time around. At very least, that is, with the presidential candidate.
