Just because she had a warrant for her arrest does not automatically make
her a 'felon'.

Also, there are other ways of detaining someone without putting them in the
county jail.  As someone pointed out already, if a suspect is injured before
being in police custody (or even while in police custody), these suspects
are usually brought to the hospital.  Not to mention, in most areas, 'rape
kits', where evidence is gathered from the rape victim, are usually done in
a hospital.  (At least both of these were true in NJ when I still lived
there and worked as a paramedic).

There is no excuse for throwing this woman in jail...detaining her at the
station, maybe, but not throwing her in jail
