I think it's gotten out of hand a bit, yes. But i still have trouble wanting
to publically mock someone who's "crime" was reporting something they
thought as suspicious to the proper authorities.

If anything, be critical of the authority's reponse....after all, it
probably wasn't necessary to shut down one of the busiest cities on earth
because someone left their light bright under a bridge.....
