Well, it depends on what you're memorizing. I once had a physics class where the instructor let us bring an 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper as a cheat sheet. Of course some guy stayed up all night using a florescent light magnifying glass writing the entire book onto the sheet. It was actually microscopic writing - no lie. He brought 2 hand held magnifying glasses with him to read it.
