Having been in that tax bracket for a number of years, I realize that.

But, I think it is more important that _everyone_ contribute, and everyone
pays part of their way.

That way, they know they are part of the system, not second class citizens
(which they are now). They would also be _more_ inclined to want to reduce
the tax burdon than anyone else (whereas now, they are the least inclined)

For me, it is exactly the same as affirmative action.

Everyone pays the same.

If some people cannot then pay their rent because of that tax, then we make
low income housing more available. Or child care.

(As for affirmative action, I think that all preferential hiring should end.
If there is an inequal playing field, address that instead with extra help
or programs as needed.)
