Maybe apropos of nothing, we have a friend of the family who, while
she was in high school, cooked up an ingenious plan.

She and her friends decided (before Welfare reform) that they would
have it made it they all just got knocked up. They all came from
lower middle class or poor backgrounds; consequently they didn't know
anyone in college or even anyone that had gone to college. Much less
any professionals, business owners, etc. So they didn't have many
role models.

Well, they all got knocked up and, for awhile, they did have it made.
Then came along welfare reform and within a few years she was back
living with her parents and struggling at a low paying job.

Soon she got sick of getting paid crap when she saw others, some
dumber, getting paid more. Well, long story short, she's now finally
on her own again and making good money having worked her way up.

She's productive, motivated, and understands how to get skills and
move up. And all it took was getting her off of Welfare.
