How much does a copy of windows server cost the average large organization?
About $100, maybe even less. I think we pay $80 for Standard and $120 for
Enterprise. How much does Red Hat Enterprise cost? Large companies buy
support contracts, the OS is going to cost about the same.

Yeah, based on the admins and software designers personal preference.

Depends on what you are updating, and how you update it. If you do the
windows update, then yeah it may require a reboot. If you stop the service
than update it then restart the service then it won't need to reboot.

I think I did 14 or so patches last week and I didn't have to reboot. Again,
it is a question of knowing how to do it.
