I dind't see earthsea but I was really disappointed with Dune. However, if you've been watching Battlestar Galactica at all you can see that Sci Fi can put out excellent work when they put the money and effort into it.
I don't know, I never read the Oz books, so I can't really get to worked up about it. BTW, If you haven't seen battlestar get the torrent. A friend told me about it, and I downloaded the last 3 seasons, the miniseries and the webisodes. "Oscar Winner Richard Dreyfuss"), Zooey Deschanel, Alan Cumming - I mean it's not like Sci-Fi can have all that much cash. How do they convince seemingly intelligent actors to completely ass-rape our cultural and literary heritage? Haven't Peter Jackson and Bryan Singer shown us that you CAN make millions while respecting your source material? Is it really that hard?
