Definitely get a car. Public transportation in Atlanta is not
something for the faint of heart. Dangerous, and doesn't take you
anywhere you would want to be.

In the city, the new aquarium is nice, and the Atlanta history museum
if you're into history. I used to recommend Stone Mountain Park, and
it's still ok if you avoid the amusement park they built in the middle
and just do the nature stuff.

If you want to stay downtown, there are several nice hotels in the
Peachtree Center complex. I like the Peachtree Plaza, which is one of
the tallest hotels in the world, and have a great view from the
revolving Sundial Restaurant at the top. If your training is not
downtown, find a chain hotel close to where you are doing the
training. You do not want to fight rush-hour traffic in Atlanta.

When you know which are you'll be in, post it and I'll give you some
dining and entertainment pointers.

(and yes, I'm still in San Francisco, but I lived in Atlanta for 50+
years, and I was born on Peachtree Street, so I'm qualified to give
advice)
