Well, I don't have much fat. A little bit over my abs and that's it.
I'm a pretty small dude, with a high metabolism.

So far I've had crazy headaches from my Mountain Dew withdrawals (Dana,
can I sue them?) and my body hates me for running and working out.

Christ I don't remember it hurting this much :)

One other thing about diet: if you want to lose fat and gain muscle
you'll need a low carb/high protein diet. (this is NOT Atkins!
*good* fats only IMO)

To lose fat, take your maintenance kcal and subtract 15%-20%. You'll
want 0.5-1 gram/lb body weight of carbs, 1.5-2 grams/lb of protein,
and the rest good fats. The macronutrient mix should be about 30%-40%
good fats, 50% protein, 10%-20% low GI carbs (oatmeal, brown rice,
etc) except after lifting!

After lifting you'll want to eat the highest GI carbs of the day:
baked potato, 8 oz POM juice, etc. Then make sure to following that
up with a fast digesting protein shake. The high GI carbs will spike
your insulin levels and the quick digesting protein will ride that
train to get amino acids, protein, and nutrients to your abused
muscles. Make sure your kcal after lifting kcal don't include fat or
fiber; it'll slow down digestion.

The key here is a thing called "nutrient timing": having the right
nutrients at the right time for your body. Morning low GI carbs are
good and post-lifting high GI carbs are good. Otherwise stay away
from the CHO.

If you really want to go hardcore and have the discipline, try *only*
high GI carbs post lifitng and then no other carbs or very few from
clean sources like fruits/veggies. Every 2 to 3 weeks you could have
a weekend carb-up where you can let go a litte: have the pizza or
pasta.

Anyway, all of this stuff is controversial, but that's how
bodybuilders do it. YMMV. Good luck!
