hourly'll work in your favor, even if you don't have golden time built
into the contract.

monthly'll work in their favor and you'll have to be extremely careful
with your bookkeeping to make sure you don't end up working for
$10/hour because of overtime.

also, keep this in mind, the expense of an FTE is essentially 2x what
the FTE is actually paid (benefits included), while this is not exact,
it is a good rule of thumb and can be especially helpful when figuring
out what to ask for and negotiating.
