I agree 100 with everything you said.

To an extent I blame the various people surrounding this complete load
of crap for making it what it is.

The fact that Al Sharpton is involved just makes it all the more obvious
that something is wrong with the entire situation.

I'm seeing things in various places now calling him a racist, he may be
sexist, but I still don't understand how the comment was racist. Is it
because he made an ugly comment about a team that was made up of mostly
black women? Does a word change meaning based on the race of the person
you are using it against?

Was the statement rude? Yes. Is Imus rude? Yes.

Now from the CBS perspective I can understand if they would prefer not
to have a DJ making sexist comments, and fired him after multiple
complaints and reprimands. But this is CBS we are talking about, Howard
Stern was on the air for years degrading women, and well just about
anybody else he could find. CBS didn't seem to have a problem with that
until the FCC started to fine them. Now Al Sharpton and Hillary Clinton
are involved, and the race card is being played and two different
Broadcasting giants fire him.

The very people who are supposed to have the balls will not stand behind
the man, not for the comment, but for his right to say it.

Even ABC kept Bill Maher on the air until the season was over even after
sponsors had pulled their ads and affiliated dropped the show.
