"Exposure to the culture"??   In American culture apparently this is
so misunderstood that nobody knows if they're offended or not:

1.) I don't think it's an insult and you don't know.
2.) Many, a majority, probably don't know what it means.
3.) Those that are offended listen to and use this language all the time.

If fact, where did a 70 year old crusty white dude hear "nappy headed
hos" in the first place?  Did he make it up on his own?  No.

So what we have is a bunch of people making a big stink over something that:

A.) Was said is jest,
B.) Is not understood by a majority of Americans, and
C.) Those that do understand it created it and use it daily.

Sounds like a big pile of bullshit to me.
