Shocking! But it is expensive there, especially if driving around is on the agenda. It's worth it to me though. We're planning my wife's "Hawaii 3-0" party there next year. Sure, the helicopter ride is $400 per person. But when else *in your life* are you going to be able to fly over a live fecking volcano and see lava boiling up from the center of the Earth??!? The trip is worth it for that alone. When I flew over Po'oo'whatever'o I actually saw WAVES OF LAVA shooting out of the thing. And approaching it was like flying into Mordor. I just haven't ever done anything that compares to that.
