I'm in Eagan which is a southeast 'burb, but I drive to work on the west side daily. My wife works downtown and takes the bus in which I highly recommend if it's convenient: You beat all the traffic that way. People complain about the traffic around here but having driven in Dallas, Houston, LA, and Chicago I think this is nothin'. I can make it from southeast to northwest (about 35 miles) in under an hour during peak rush hour. It it snows ... well that's a different story :) Hey you're not working for Dow Jones are you?
