But the US and Iraqi government don't gain an ally: http://www.time.com/time/world/article/0,8599,1620607,00.html
I actually see this as progress. The guy still hates the Shiite government and wants US forces out, but eh actually sounds like he could see some progress. Now, his solution- put all the Sunnis back in charge- doesn't have a chance in hell of gaining agreement, but at least he is talking about it. He is an interesting possibility- we get this guy and his people on board, the Shiites agree to split the oil wealth (much of which it turns out now is in Anbar province) and give some autonomy to each of the three main areas, and US forces go home. It's a tall order, because none of that is anywhere near happening today, but that's the best hope the Iraqis have of not murdering each other for the next two generations. -- --------------- Robert Munn www.funkymojo.com ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| ColdFusion MX7 and Flex 2 Build sales & marketing dashboard RIAâs for your business.
