we'd all be daft if we relied only on one skill-set no matter what we do.

Here's (to me) the most telling thing in the article: "Obsolescence is
a relative -- not absolute -- term in the world of technology." Right
at the top of the article the author takes a middle-of-the-road,
wishy-washy stance. If anyone disagrees, the author can simply say,
'yeah, well in general I'm right" or "of course your case may be
different"... BS, the author is not even willing to take a firm stand.
