My point was that:

1.) There's no reason to shoot the animal unless it's part of a
management cull and if it is you take the animal in one shot.
Professionals use the right tool for the job - if can't or won't then
you have no business doing the job.

2.) In this case, the dumbfuck parents could've put the animal down
but didn't so that the kid could kill it - basically they tortured an
animal for the enjoyment of their child.
