I'm sorry for your findings... but it seems silly to base any sort of public policy on the finding from one local test. Especially when you've already gotten a response that the water is, in fact, a problem. If we assume that (as most tests show) that municipal tap water is just as safe (or indeed safer) than bottled water then why not choose the cheaper option? If we assume that it's NOT as safe then we've got bigger problems and we need to fix that problem regardless. I guess what I'm saying is that we've got a priority here: first we need safe tap water. Everything in the discussion else pales to that. Then we can use that tap water for our municipal buildings/offices more cheaply than paying a third party to bottle that tap water and deliver it. > I provided the results to the water districts and changes had allegedly > been made. Of course you make the main point at the end: most bottled water (the VAST majority) is tap water. Sometimes it's even filtered. So, again - if the tap water is a problem fix that first.
