I agree in theory... but then again if managment has turned this system into a blame machine then maybe they don't deserve such honesty. On the other hand if system is managed well then I think you'll find that "people who watch out for each other" generally becomes "good workers covering the asses of idiots". It fine to reasonably consider a problem like this and sweep it under if you consider it miniscule... just be sure that the person that you're covering for deserves that consideration.
