Have you looked into FusionReactor or SeeFusion? Adobe is telling people to NOT run the monitoring stuff on production servers because of the overheard (I heard 20% overheard from an Adobe engineer). Although FusionReactor and SeeFusion don't quite provide as MUCH power (IMO), they do operate under considerably less overheard. Either one of them will go into great detail about why their products will still have value in the world of CF8 - and I think they're right.
