Yeah, I had to laugh at the one comment about how we need to stop paying our 
employers to get the health insurance and buy it ourselves. HA! As a sole 
proprietor I can attest to how awful the situation is if you are not able to 
purchase insurance through a group. It gets far, far worse if you have a 
chronic problem or have any serious injury in the past 10 years. Insurance 
companies can pretty much deny you for any reason at all, and even if you are 
able to get insurance, you have far higher co-pays and deductibles than with 
group plans. I'm single and have to pay almost $400 a month for my insurance 
and still have a $750 deductible and 20% copay. That means I'm paying over $5K 
a year before my insurance will even kick in and cover anything. That's a 
pretty sizable chunk of salary when you are self-employed...and mine is not 
even the most expensive plan out there. Prescription drug coverage is equally 
crappy, I often have to take drugs that are less effective for me, because the 
newer ones are way too expensive. The insurance issues are making it even 
harder for small businesses to get off the ground and succeed.
