dont get side tracked & get all wishy washy be specific. if the ask you about yourself, or backgraound, ask the specifically what would they like to know.
also make sure you first respond to a question by restating said question, just so they agree. then be specific & ALWAYS positive in answer. then follow up by asking them if that answerd they question satisfactoraly. and if not would they like more info. NEVER bad mouth previous/current employers, always spin it for the good. "looking for greater challenge type bs.."
