Further, the inherent assumption put forth by howard is that this sort of
thing did not happen prior to public schools teaching moral relativism. 

The sad truth: it did, along with other, much worse things. It being the
weekend and all, I do not care to point to a few. 

While it is nice to try and instill some values in youth, there are no
guarantees in life and some people are just weak by nature. Reading that
story, I saw a completely antisocial personality incapable of any sympathy
for the poor person dying on her car. This event was probably not a sign of
the times, but more a low point in the history of the human race.

Let me put it even more bluntly. You have no idea whether she went to a
public or private school, religious or secular, yet you are jumping to a
major conclusion without any evidence. To me that is bias.
