$77k is pretty good money here - especially if you're single OR your wife works.

Housing and the overall cost of living is very affordable, and the
triangle is one of the few housing markets in the country that isn't
heading down right now.

You can easily buy a nice house in a decent neighborhood for $100-$120
a square foot.  Property taxes are low (compared to the northeast and
midwest, at least...)

Yes, you'll be in the heart of the world of NASCAR, but Raleigh/Durham
is fairly urban and well educated too... with three major universities
(University of North Carolina, North Carolina State, and Duke
University) all within spitting distance of each other, the college
sports atmosphere is king - though we've got a decent hockey team too
if you're into that (I am!)
