Damn near impossible, I'm afraid. About 8 years ago, a couple of 4 acre lots sold near my house in Apex for nearly $200k. Best luck would be Harnett county (south) or Chatham County (southwest).. Chatham County would include the western edge of Apex and the little towns of Pittsboro and Moncure... Moncure is off of US-1 between Apex and Sanford..Pittsboro is at the intersectioN of US-64 and US-15-501 south of Chapel Hill. But large lots are really hard to come by.
