I think it's the disparity that is upsetting people. Nobody is saying
that fighting is ok, but when a young teen is facing a hundred years
in jail because his *running shoes* are being counted as deadly
weapons, that raises an eyebrow. I just listened to Democracy Now.
Discount it heavily for the excesses of Amy Goodman, and that *still*
doesn't explain a town librarian who claims not to know what a noose
in a tree means. Come *on*. I'm Canadian and I know.

Or how about the white kid who pulled a shotgun on some black kids and
was not charged after they disarmed him and called the police? The
black kids were charged with robbing him of the gun. There is *no* way
you can construe that as equal justice.
