Erika, Definitely the 17" and more RAM. If you'd like to try mine to get a feel for it then just stop on by.

Walker [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Friday, September 21, 2007 11:24 PM To: CF-Community Subject: Vostro BF is buying laptop. Going with Dell. No if and or buts about it. Dont care if the other manufacturers offer free massages or peripherals for the rest of your natural born life. It's Dell and Dell only. Now, choice of manufacturer over and done with, after reading the many reviews I found on the net about the Vostro, we're 98% sure that that is the model he is going to get. The QUESTION is 17" or 15" ? There's a $250 difference and the a slight difference between the warranty and the memory. The 17 comes with 2 gig, the 15 1 gig. Obviously more is better but we're trying to keep it at about $1000. I know we can upgrade the 15, but then it's even more money, same with the warranty on the 17. The warranty on the 15 is 2 yr on site hardware and accidental damage. Hardrive on the 17 is 120, on the 15 it's 160 - not really a factor. The best bang for the buck, hardware-wise was the Vostro hands down. It far outweighed the Inspiron even though the Inspiron was slimmer and sexier. He doesn't care about slim and sexy, that's what he has me for. He wants a work machine. The 15 inch comes with Vista Business ... the 17 Vista Basic. The 17 comes with Microsoft Office Basic (Outlook, Excel, Word). 17: $1197 17: without MS Office $1097 15: $937 Is the minimal differences worth the money?
