I objected to the characterization of the United States being founded as 
a Christian nation. I agree completely that many of the founders were 
christian and many of the ideals that the country was founded with are 
ideals that christianity espouses. I don't know that it exactly makes 
them Christian ideals, but I have no problems at all when christians 
espouse and work for ideals like liberty, happiness, equality and 
justice. I heartily welcome it in fact.

It sounds like we are on much the same page. People who aren't christian 
just get a bit antsy when ideals which are shared by lots of people are 
coopted and labeled as Christian. I don't think you did it on purpose, 
but its one of those things that is quite common in our society and 
makes non-christians a bit nervous.
