I would suggest contacting them and making you case to them.

However, in the end, you are responsible for your server. I am certain that
you can probably negotiate a lower rate for the services rendered, but
probably not completely.

Please keep in mind that the concept ASAP literally means "As Soon As
Possible", it does NOT mean "right away" or "Within the hour". So they may
have gotten to your server "ASAP", at least within their own schedule.

Bottom line: Contact them and argue your case. Tell them you are not happy
with the service they supplied and you feel that part of the recovery should
be paid for by them. The can either agree, or disagree. Either way, you
can try to negotiate the fee.

Hope this Helps,

William

Subject: HELP needed..... your opion about hosting problem.

I have a dedicated server in a hosting company in US. (CF5, windows 2003,
SQL database).
on August 20th, suddenly I noticed that my server was unstable... because
for some reason coldfusion could not purge the registry (variable was
written into the registry)and the registry grew too big.
because it was too big.. I could not edit the registry keys remotely ( I am
in Japan, and my server is in US)
so... I submited a ticket support... asking the hosting company staff to
help me delete / clear some registry keys.
They replied my request.. and promised they would take action ASAP.
But... they did not .... until August 23rd (3days later)... my server
crashed.
They suggest to reinstall everything... which I was agreed.
The re-installation process took quite a long time..
And... now... they charge me $1,729.17 for the working fee.

Well... My point is... if they took action of my problem immediately on
August 20th.
my server would not crashed..

What do you think ? ... is it fair for them to charge me that expensive ?
What should I reply to them ? ...
Help... I need your opinion.
Thanks.
