Dems are spending more money because they have more money. The Christian
Right is feeling a bit out in the wilderness. They know the country isn't
leaning in their direction and they have no idea what to do about it. The
best thing for Dems would be for the right-wingers to push some
ultra-conservative into a third-party candidacy, because it would swing the
vote to Dems. I think the conservatives are too disciplined to pull a Nader,
though they might just stay home instead of voting for Guiliani.

The attacks on each other are just part of the process. As long as they
don't get too vicious or dirty, no one will remember come next summer when
it really matters.
