First of all, I qualified my statement with the statement that not all attacks were on us soil. So here is the legacy Clinton left for terrorists:
1991 - Humanitarian operation in Somalia is transformed into a military strike that ends up with several US soldiers killed/wounded and drug down the dirt roads on national TV, and we retreat. 1993 - First world trade center attack. Clinton does nothing. 1995 - 5 US Military personnel are killed in Saudi Arabia. Clinton does nothing. 1995-1996 - Clinton institutes "Citizenship USA" which pressures the USDOJ INS to naturalize over 1,000,000 illegal aliens, even though many had incomplete background checks, which in essence allowed terrorists as well as those with good intentions to receive green cards. (And although not an attack, it still reeks of stupidity, sort of like Bush's amnesty program that he was/is trying to shove down our throats). 1996 - Khobar Towers bombing kills 19 and injures 200 US military personnel. Clinton does nothing. August 2nd, 1998 - US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania are bombed by terrorists. Response - US launches cruise missiles at an EMPTY terrorist training camp in Afghanistan, and destroying a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Sudan. Although some will say that these were camps financed by Bin-Laden, we all know this was a wag the dog situation that was aimed at deflecting legal problems with Clinton getting head in the Oval Office. Oh, and we did not get Bin-Laden in the Afghanistan attack because we gave Pakistan advance notice of the attack, and at the time Pakistani intelligence was sympathetic to Al Quida. And although not on the continental US, I believe that embassies are considered us soil. Please correct me if I am wrong. October 2000 - Terrorists strike at the USS Cole in Yemen. Clinton does nothing. What Clinton did was give the terrorists the perception that we Americans are nothing more than paper tigers ripe for attack, and attack they did. Remember 9/11? I honestly feel that if Clinton had actually acted on these acts of terrorism and fulfilled his promises that he would bring whomever did these things to us to justice, or better yet blow the fuckers off the face of the earth, those attacks on US soil could and would have been prevented.
