"*We're* destroying our planet, and we need to stop"

I know what you mean, but I feel like being a stickler for language today.

We are not destroying the planet. It will happily continue to orbit the sun
for many a millennium. We are probably very unlikely to destroy life on the
planet. Life is apparently very adaptable (with or without guidance) and will
continue no matter what we do. I would be hard pressed to agree that we could
even entirely destroy humankind. We have so throughly populated the planet
that it is fairly likely that one or more viable populations should survive in
remote locations just about anything that happens.

What we could very likely be doing is destroying our comfortable, advanced,
basic survival guaranteed, civilizations a large portion of the human
population currently enjoys. But that is rather a mouthful to say all the time.
Other then this semantic aside, I agree with the pro warming arguments given.
