I don't want to arbitrarily set a number that the government should spend,
because it will just get pissed away on worthless BS. I would like to see
the government approving money for research into the causes of warming and
cooling trends, including but not limited to the current trend. I would also
like to see the government approving money for general climatology research.

Mostly this stuff is happening already. However, there is a huge, huge
problem with the way research is being funded. As we hear again and again
from members of the scientific community, if you have a theory that goes
against the Gospel of ALGORE, you not only don't stand a chance in hell of
getting funding, you had better get your resume ready because you are likely
to get booted from your job. If we really want to make progress, we need to
fund serious research without pre-judging it.

As for the $50 B, if that kind of money actually gets approved, sign me up
for $500 million a year to study ocean currents and wave formation as it is
affected by global warming.
