I have a similar setup at home with 2x20". I probably use some other 'benefits', but the one that comes to mind for having it as 'primary and seconday' monitors is:
When you have an application open on one monitor and you click 'full- screen' it fills the entire monitor's screen, not the entire 'desktop'. This means that I don't have a 'funky' line down the center of what I am working on. I also can 'full-screen' my browser on one and my code on the other. Something I have been doing recently is enlarging my code view in DW to the full screen and allowing the 'assets' window to overlap into the ajoining monitor. The browser will 'cover it' when it is active, but will give me more code 'realestate'. I just prefer the 'primary/secondary' method. At home I can watch TV on one monitor while working on the other. all sorts of fun to be had.... ;) -----Original Message---- -From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] -Date: Oct 24, 2007 10:51 -To: "CF-Community"<[email protected]> -Subj: Double monitors double your fun - -With a little cajoling and much patience I have convince my new employer -to provide me with a two monitor set up. I had this in a previous -position and I experienced to flavors. One was what I understand is -called "dual" where you have a primary and secondary monitor. The other -was I understand is called "span" where the system considers you to have -one wide screen monitor. I slightly prefer this latter option, but I am -no experienced enough to know if I can set my self up that way. Anybody -know in good brains, blogs, documentation to pick to understand the whys -and wherefores of Span versus Dual? - -A bit of systems information if it helps. - -Gateway Intel Desktop with Intel Q965/Q963 Express Chipset Family. -Two gateway 17" flat screen displays. -One is connected to the display card as a 'monitor' and the other as a -'digital' display. - -There is apparently an 'Intel Graphics Media Accelerator Driver' plug- in -installed into the display properties. With this tool I was able to -create an interesting effect of turning my monitors sideways. So -instead of two 1280x1024(wider then tall) displays I am currently -experimenting with two 1024x1280 (taller then wide) displays. - -I think this could be kind of cool in span mode so that my task bar -would span both monitors and be 2048 pixels wide. - - - - ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Check out the new features and enhancements in the latest product release - download the "What's New PDF" now http://download.macromedia.com/pub/labs/coldfusion/cf8_beta_whatsnew_052907.pdf Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Community/message.cfm/messageid:245045 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Community/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.5
