I'm late to this thread, but here goes:

When I was in cub scouts as a kid, we had a pretty good group for awhile. I
had no idea of any of these issues- what gay was, etc. so I didn't care.
Later on, we got a new scout leader whose son shared all sorts of racist
things his father had to say about his dark-skinned neighbors. That was the
last time I went to scouts.

Intolerance breeds more intolerance.
