That's why I had my Rottie Kirke trained in police-dog training when we lived on Capitol Hill in DC. That dog had a three foot vertical jump and a nose for suspicious characters.
BTW, we still had a break-in in our garage, which was not connected to the main house. My next-door neighbor went on a little spree. He suddenly disappeared for six months, which I found out later he spent in prison. Gotta love the District!
