They both hated it the first year (last year), which is exactly what I had
hoped for.

They both learned very quickly how very un-special they are, and how they
better learn how to shut their mouths and get along, or else. Don't
appreciate home-cooked lunches? Then choke on a half-stale public school
sandwich. I bet next time you get an opportunity like homeschooling you'll
really apply yourself, won't you? Yeah, I thought so.

I wasn't about to raise a batch of spoiled-rotten suburbanite schmucks who
think the world revolves around them and that they don't have to work hard
and fast to survive. They needed to handle being made fun of and getting
into physical fights with much bigger kids and verbal tiffs and being
punished for things they didn't do. All extremely useful stuff for a child
in their formative years, and no I'm not kidding about that.

We coddle kids *WAAAAAAY* too much in this country these days. And we make
them feel like they own the place. If I had ever talked to any adult the
way some of these kids talk to their excuses for parents, my father would
have beaten me like you wouldn't believe.

No, these two are going to pack the gear and hump the line. That's for
damned sure.

Respectfully,
